The Process

Becoming a Licensed Official Worker

We are excited that you feel God is calling you to be an Alliance Official Worker.  We look forward to walking with you on your journey towards licensing and further ministry in The Alliance Southeast. 

To become a licensed worker, you must have completed at least 30 hours of Bible from an accredited College/University and you must be in or entering in a ministry at one of our Alliance churches.  The first step to starting the process is to visit www.called2serve.org and completing the initial questionnaire.  As part of this you will need to send in a pastoral recommendation as well as your transcripts.  After these items are received, you will need to schedule a brief phone interview for us to find out more about you and what your ministry will be.

After the initial interview you will need to establish a MyCMA profile so that we can get to know you.  Create a MyCMA account at www.cmalliance.org. Be sure to check the box "I've read and agree to the Terms of Use" and then click "Create Account."  

Check your e-mail and click on the link provided to activate your account. You will need to enter the User ID and Validation Key provided in the email, then click "Proceed." Sign into your new account with the same e-mail address and password you created.

Go to www.cmalliance.org/serve/ and click "My Application" in the blue navigation bar. From there click the red "MyCMA Sign In" button and enter in your username and password. Click the red "Launch Application" button.

Fill out the "Release of Records and Mediation Agreement" and then continue with the rest of the application. This application includes a Doctrinal Questionnaire, Character References, Biographical Inventory, a Bible Knowledge Exam, and several other forms.  

The Alliance Southeast also requires that all new workers must complete a background check.  Please contact Amy Petke (apetke@alliancese.org) for the Background Check Authorization Form.

The last step prior to your interview is to have a mental health assessment with Elton Hume, our mental health counselor.  This is a two part assessment with the first part done online and the second part either in person with Elton or via Zoom.  

Following completion of the entire Application and once the District Office has received your final mental health assessment report and the District Superintendent has signed off on it, you will be scheduled for an interview before an LOCC subcommittee.  Please keep in mind these interviews are scheduled around the subcommittee's availability as they are pastors in ministry. This committee will assess your character, calling, and readiness for ministry as an Official Worker with The Alliance.  

Please note that for various reasons, not everyone is approved for vocational service with the C&MA, but we desire to
help you find your place in God's work.

Upon having a successful interview, your pastor or church governing board will need to submit a complete Request for Appointment form to the District Office to process your license with the National Office.  Please contact Amy Petke (apetke@alliancese.org) to get this form.

Please remember, you are not officially licensed until you are placed in an official Alliance ministry.
